With the sun shining brightly and the cool breeze blowing, it’s time to get out of the house and truly embrace the summertime. Turn off the television, video games, and the laptop and get out into the real world to create memories with the people that you love. There is so much going on in the area this year, you’ll never have to worry about having nothing to do.

 

Baseball

 

No summer would feel right without at least one trip to the ballpark for a live baseball game. When you and your family are looking for something to do this year, don’t forget that the Great American Ballpark is just a few miles away. Get some tickets to your next home game and cheer on your favorite team with your family.

 

Movies in the Park

 

Everyone likes going to the movies. But why go see a movie at a regular movie theatre when the warm summer weather can provide you with so many other options for movie viewing?  Going to Summer Cinema in Washington Park will be unlike any other movie experience you’ve ever had. Every Wednesday until August 26th, you and your friends or family can spread out a blanket on the ground and watch an excellent movie outdoors.

 

Neil Young Live

 

Music lovers everywhere know that summer is concert season. Some of the biggest names in music tour during the summer months, hitting both indoor and outdoor amphitheaters all over the country.  This summer, the legendary Neil Young is coming to the Cincinnati area on July 13th at the Riverbend Music Center. A Neil Young concert has appeal to a wide range of generations. Tickets make an excellent birthday or Father’s Day gift. Make sure that you go online and get your tickets right away before they sell out.

 

Movers & Shakers

 

When schools out, finding new ways to keep the little ones entertained can be difficult. One option is to enroll your child in some classes that will keep them learning but feel like play. Every week, the Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center has a Montessori inspired class called Movers & Shakers. It is designed to encourage learning through play and movement. Enrolling in the class will give your kids a valuable learning experience while also keeping them entertained through the long summer. The experience will be entertaining and educational.

 

JCB Mud Run

 

Athletes love the summer. With the warm weather and all the outdoor activities going on, its easy to stay active and in shape in the summer season.  Those who like to run will be able to participate in one of the most anticipated runs in the Cincinnati area this summer. The Cincinnati Ohio Mudathlon will be occurring on June 20th. You can have a blast getting in shape while running through the countless fun obstacles. When registering for the Mudathlon, you can choose a start time based on your experience and skill level. The event will occur this year on August 1st.

 

If you have one goal this summer, make it a goal to get out of the house as much as possible. With so many events happening all the time in the Cincinnati area, there is no excuse for boredom. Call your friends, family, or even head out to one of the areas activities alone to meet new people with common interests.
