Located in one of the northern suburbs of Cincinnati, this brewery specializes in handcrafted lagers and ales with names like Helles, Unit 6, Dunkel, and Hop Bomber, among others. Their tap room is open on Wednesdays from 5-8pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 5-10pm, and Saturdays from 12pm – 10pm. Tours are offered twice a week on Fridays at 6pm and Saturdays at 3pm. For the small fee of $5, you receive a tour of the brewery, a pint of beer, and a Rivertown Brewery glass. Reservations are not required for parties less than twenty people.

Christian Moerlein Brewing Company

Founded in 1853, the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company is one of the oldest and most famous breweries in Cincinnati. Prohibition closed the brewery’s doors and weren’t reopened again until 1981. Since then, it has received many accolades and was the first American beer to pass the Reinheitsgebot Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Located in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, the brewery has a bar and a full restaurant. Want to see where the beer is made? They offer tours for $10 on Saturdays and Sundays at 10am. The 75-minute tour includes a guided tour of the Moerlein Lager House and two beer tokens to use at the bar.

Mt. Carmel Brewing Company

You can found this brewery in the eastern suburbs of Cincinnati. What started out as a small operation in the basement of founders Mike and Kathleen Dewey has become a renown and respectable craft brewery. In the MCBC public house, they have eight rotating taps to choose from and are open from 12pm – 4pm Monday through Thursday, Friday from 12pm – 9pm, and Saturday from 12pm – 5pm. Tours are given on Saturdays at 1pm and 2:30pm.
