Even More Winter Date Ideas in Cincinnati

Don’t Let the Cold Keep You Inside this Season

Cincinnati Winter DatesTwo winters ago, we posted a blog about all of the fun and fantastic ways that you and your special loved one can spend an evening together in the city. Once again, the winter weather is upon us, and you might be looking for something new and exciting to do. Don’t let the cold temperatures keep you cooped up in the house. Instead, you should find out what special events the winter is bringing to Cincinnati. There are plenty of winter activities, events, and more to participate in, even now that the holidays are already over. You may even strike up some new winter time traditions.

Ice Skating

In our previous blog, we mentioned that ice skating at Fountain Square Ice Rink is an excellent way to spend a winter evening. However, Fountain Square is far from the only location where you and your significant other can cut a rug on the ice. Northland Ice Center, Sports Plus Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky Ice Center are some other locations that offer public ice skating during the winter season. Even if you have little or no experience ice skating, you can still have a fabulous time inching along the ice. You may even find that you have a natural talent that you didn’t realize you had.

Tea Rooms and Coffee Houses

When the winter weather hits, there is nothing nicer than bundling up and drinking plenty of coffee, hot cocoa, or tea to keep warm. If you are a tea lover, there is no reason why you need to stay at home to enjoy a steaming warm cup of your favorite beverage. You can head over to one of the many tea rooms in the Cincinnati area and have a delicious cup of tea, and maybe even take some of your favorite brews home. You and your date can head over to The Bonbonerie Fine Pastries for a quaint lunch date and enjoy their afternoon tea. For coffee lovers, you can enjoy a steaming cup of joe at Highland Coffee House, a favorite of Cincinnatians for its dark atmosphere and delicious coffee.

Live Events

Since the chill is in the air, winter is the perfect time for you and your significant other to take in one of the many excellent live shows or concerts that take place all year round. This winter, you can head over to the Arnoff Center to see the Legendary Count Basie Orchestra or the Broadway tour of Anything Goes among several other fabulous live events. You can also take a trip to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to hear some of the greatest classical musicians in the Cincinnati area, and even the country.

Valentine’s Day

When Christmas and New Year’s are over, there is still one more very important holiday left for the winter season. Planning a fabulous Valentine’s Day date should be high on your list of priorities this year. Luckily, Cincinnati is home to some excellent and romantic restaurants, perfect for a lovely evening with your spouse or significant other. One location that never fails is the lovely Primavista, home to the most beautiful view in the city. You may also consider heading over to Over the Rhine, an area now known for its trendy and delicious restaurants, bars, shops and more.

When you go to plan your next winter date night, you should be thinking about more than just a location. You should plan out the entire evening. Choose a nice restaurant for dinner before a show or a bar where you can have a couple of drinks. You might also want to think about hiring a limo to escort you and your date to your final destination. There is nothing more romantic than an evening out in a limousine.
