Fall Festivals and Spooky Halloween Activities around Cincinnati

Fall Family Fun for Halloween

Cincinnati Fall Halloween FunFall is finally in full swing, and as a result fun festivals and family events are popping up everywhere. There are so many fantastic fall traditions for you and your friends and family to partake in this year. If you plan well, October and November can be two of the best months out of the year. The Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays can be massive amounts of fun in and of themselves, but there are also plenty of other celebrations that can keep the fall spirit alive on the days that aren’t special holidays. You and your friends and family can celebrate the fall season every weekend.

Have Fun on a Farm

One fun fall tradition for people of all ages is taking an old fashioned hay ride. Visiting a farm with your family is a guaranteed way for you to have fun all day long. At places like Iron’s Fruit Farm and Berwinkel Farms, you can enjoy a day full of apple picking, pumpkin picking, corn mazes, and last but not least, hayrides. Packing a picnic lunch and heading over to a farm for some old fashioned fun is a wonderful way to get you and your loved ones into the fall spirit. You can even bring home plenty of apples, apple cider, and other souvenirs to last you for weeks.

Get Spooked on Halloween

Halloween is coming up fast, and before you know it the time for trick or treating will be near. If you are a fan of the scariest holiday of the year, you will want to plan as much Halloween related fun as possible. For those who like being spooked, you should consider taking a tour of some of Cincinnati’s scariest haunted houses. St. Rita School for the Deaf Haunted House, Haunted Village After Dark, and the U.S.S. Nightmare are all wonderfully frightful locations that will scare you out of your socks. Keep in mind that haunted houses are not always a great idea for children. It’s best to use discretion based on the age and sensitivity level of your children before bringing them along on a haunted house tour.

Although Haunted House tours may not be for children, there are still plenty of family friendly Halloween activities happening in the Cincinnati area. One popular haunted house, Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall, even has a much less scarier evening for children on October 26th. The kids can come to the hall and trick or treat for a price of five dollars per child. Kids can also collect candy at Ikea’s Trick or Treat night on October 29th and Mt. St. Joseph University’s trunk or treat bash on October 29th.

Attend Some Fall Festivals

Finally, keep your eyes open for some fun fall festivals coming up this October. Kid’s Fall Fest in Washington Park is a great place for you and your family to show off your costumes while seeing a parade, magic tricks, and getting your face painted. You could also choose to get away from the kids for a while with a visit to Friday Fright Night in Washington Park. This year, Friday Fright Night will be hosting its popular double feature on Halloween night. The evening starts with Dracula and finishes with a screening of Frankenstein.

With so much fun to be head in Cincinnati this fall, there is no reason for you to coop yourself up in your house. The weather is still fine and there is plenty of time for you and your loved ones to get some fresh air before the winter cold sets in. To find out what events are happening in your community, you can do a little bit of research online. With the click of a mouse, you can find dozens of fun events that might even become annual traditions.
