The Best Places to Unwind in Cincinnati
Dealing with the everyday grind can be taxing on a person. The regular Monday through Friday, eat, sleep, work routine can really wear you down.
Sometimes you have to break the monotony in some way to make sure you don’t lose your dwindling grip on your sanity. Instead of just heading straight home to start the process all over again before work the next day, you should consider staying out after work and hanging out with friends or co-workers. Having that extra bit of social interaction outside of the office but before heading home can really do wonders for your state of mind.
If you need somewhere to unwind after work, we have a few suggestions for you to consider. Lucky for you, Cincinnati is filled with amazing hot spots and after work hangouts to lift your spirits during that mid-week slump.
Neon’s Unplugged
208 12th St E
You should check out the outdoor patio of Neon’s Unplugged before the temperature drops too much. It’s styled like a German beer garden and comes with bocce ball and a life-sized Jenga set you can play with. If you’re a dog-lover, they also allow well-behaved canines on the back patio as well. This is an excellent spot to head after work with your friends to grab a craft beer, play some games, and just enjoy the beautiful weather before winter rears its cold head.
The Bar at Palm Court
35 W 5th St
Surround yourself with the beautiful art deco setting in the Bar at Palm Court for a feeling of lush relaxation after a long day. Their happy hour runs from 4pm to 7pm and along with amazing drink specials, you can also nosh on a half-priced appetizer. Your drink options here will vary from their extensive wine list, custom cocktails, or even a custom beer. If you hold off on unwinding until after you leave work on Fridays, they also have live jazz music from 5pm to 1pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Incline Lounge at the Celestial
1071 Celestial St
There may be no better way to unwind after a hard day than sitting at the Incline Lounge at the Celestial and looking out over the Ohio River and Cincinnati skyline. They offer amazing drink specials during their happy hour from 4pm to 6:30pm along with the amazing view. Enjoy a drink and dinner while watching the sun go down and the lights of the city come up.
Longworth’s
1108 St. Gregory St
Although Longworth’s in Mt. Adams is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the summer and fall, you can still stop in on any other day of the week for some entertainment and food after work. Play a game of pool with your friends while sharing a pitcher of beer (1/2 priced on Wednesdays!).
Arthur’s
3516 Edward’s Rd
If you’re starving after a long day of work and only a gourmet burger and local craft beer will hit the spot, you should head over to Arthur’s in Hyde Park. You can make your own custom gourmet burger before finishing it off with a locally brewed craft beer. Be sure to check out their happy hour between 2pm and 6pm for some pretty incredible drink specials and half priced appetizers.
It would be virtually impossible to list all the best bars and restaurants in Cincinnati to stop into after work. All of which can radically reduce your stress level and improve your frame of mind before heading home to prepare yourself for working again the next day. Since it may seem tempting to drink a bit more when laughing at having a good time with friends after a long day in the office, make sure you arrive home safely by reserving a Cincinnati car service for the evening.
