Prom Preparations for You and Your Teen

3 Ways to Get Ready for the Big Night

ID-10078386.jpgSpring brings April showers and May flowers but it also brings a special event that most teens have been looking forward to for a long time: Prom! For many students prom night is their first chance at getting dressed up in glamorous gowns and slick tuxedos for one exciting night of fun and dancing. While the boys don’t have to do much more than get a haircut and pick out a tux with a cummerbund to match their date’s dress. Girls, on the other hand, have probably been planning their entire night out the second they started their Junior or Senior year.

While planning your child’s prom night might not be as stressful and detail-oriented as planning a wedding, it still comes with its own set of challenges. We’ve put together three ways to help you and your kids pull off the best night of their teenage lives.

1.      Prom Night Transportation

The first thing you will need to do when helping your teen plan their perfect prom night is to call up a car service like Savannah Nite to book a limousine for the night. The main reason we’ve put prom night transportation at the top of this list is because you shouldn’t hesitate to book a limousine or party bus now. Prom night is a popular night for limo companies and if you wait too long, you may find yourself playing chauffeur for the night in your own minivan. Most teens like to go to prom with a bunch of their friends, so a party bus or stretch limousine would be ideal. If this is the case with your kids, all the parents can pitch in to cover the cost of transportation for the night.

There are two major benefits of booking a limousine for prom night. The first of which is the guaranteed safety of your precious cargo. Our professional chauffeurs will stay on-site throughout the night and you won’t have to worry about overexcited teenagers driving recklessly. The second benefit is the “cool factor” your teens will LOVE when they show up to the venue in a tricked out stretch limousine with suicide doors like our pink or red stretch Dodge Charger limousine.

2.      Prom Hair and Makeup

Since this is a night that your daughter will only get to experience once or twice during their high school years, you want to make sure she gets the most out of it. The hair and makeup are second only in importance to the dress they’ll be wearing. The right hairstyle and makeup can make a world of difference in your daughter’s self-confidence. The best way to make sure the big night is a success is to book her for a day of practice with a hairstylist and aesthetician. They can go through several different styles and looks before deciding on the perfect one. This will save a lot of time and stress the day of prom.

3.      Prom Attire

As we mentioned above, the boys really don’t have much to worry about when it comes to picking their attire for the big night. Most of them are just waiting to hear what color their date’s dress will be so they can order a matching bow tie and cummerbund. However, it’s still a good idea to go along with your son and have him try on different styles of suits and tuxedos. He may be surprised to find that not all tuxes are created equally!

For your daughter, the dress is what she will be judged on the most by her peers. Your daughter’s prom dress should flatter her figure without compromising her ability to breathe and dance. She should feel like a princess or a rock star from the moment she tries it on. Just make sure you’re prepared to visit several different stores before she finds “The One”.

Prom night is probably the most important night of your child’s life at this point in time. They’re going to want the same level of perfection you would want for your own major life event. Hopefully these three tips will help you get started. We can’t do much about the dress or the hair or whether or not your teen is voted Prom King or Queen, but we can provide you with prom night transportation that will blow your kid’s mind! Give us a call now so we can put a prom package together that’s perfect for you and your kids.
